I just got a new laptop (alienware m15x) I was wondering what I can do to make everything faster. "streamline it" stop things that don't need to be running making applications run better. Just things to make the operating system run better.

Install CCleaner (http://download.piriform.com/ccsetup211.exe)
Run it, click on TOOLS
Click on programs you want to uninstall, then click RUN UNINSTALLER
When done, click on the STARTUP tab
Find items in the startup you don't NEED to run every time you start your computer (Like Realplayer's update tool, or Quicktime update tool...)click on them, then DISABLE or DELETE the entries
When done, click on CLEANER and then RUN CLEANER...let it clean up all the garbage on your computer
Quit CCleaner
Defrag your computer with Defraggler (http://www.defraggler.com/)
Install more memory
If you have two hard drives, put your page file on the second drive
Switch web browsers...Mozilla FoxFire is WAY faster then Internet Explorer.
