I would rather they didn't, but the two boys just constantly fight and argue, and my 13yr old is hyperactive, and doesn't sleep well, which means my teens sleep and schooling are affected. Maybe try what you said but partitioning the room? Create 2 halves so they both have there own space.

I think your daughter and son would be to old to share a bedroom,although I am not to sure what the actual legal age is.Do you have a downstairs room where one of them can sleep? Like a dinning room that you could turn into a bedroom or something?

I'm sorry you are having to go through this and I can relate to your frustration. But just listen to yourself for a minute. You want to move the mentally challenged son because your older son is not getting enough sleep and not performing well in school. I can understand that.

BUT, you want to move him in with your daughter. Won't this cause her to loose sleep and poor performance in school as well?

There are very few laws that address this issue. There may be guidelines issued by housing or family agencies on this issue, but they will vary from locality to locality.

You don't say where you live or in what type of residence. It could be that partitioning a bedroom is the best answer. Maybe you have an unfinished attic or basement that can be fixed up.
