I don't know anything about rabbits, how long do they live?

It depends on whether they are indoors or out. Outdoor rabbits have a life expectancy of around 3 - 5 years, indoor 8 - 12, depending on the breed.
Also, spayed/neutered rabbits have a longer life expentancy then unaltered rabbits, epecially females. An unaltered female usually only lives around 3 years, unaltered females are prone to cancer.
So, if you want you rabbit to live longer, have him/her altered, and keep him/her indoors. Also, a healthy diet and exercise is a must.
