I am prescribed xanax 1mg/3x a day. My doctor said that this is the max allaowed by law. Is he right? I ask because I have a tolerance to this med and would like to know if it is indeed legal to prescribe more that that. He claimed that the xanax 2mg is only allowed to be taken 1x a day. Is this true or is he BS'ing me? Or is there some other way around this, if it is indeed the law... such as prescribing 2 different brands of benzos such as xanax and valium or klonopin. I ask especially because I have known a person who gets the 2mg xanax and is allowed more than one a day... and also, I seem to have developed a tolerance.
