A few months back I installed a hose bib lock that I purchased at Home Depot onto an external hose connection because we had learned that our tenants boyfriend was doing car washes on our property. Naturally they both denied it (we have HUGE) water bills, so within days, the lock on the hose bib was broken off. Again, they say they don't use it. What do we do now? Is there something else we can place over the hose outlet? And where would we get this something? Thanks.

I would install a inline stop, (see image) On the hose bib supply where it couldn't be turned on by a outsider. Good luck, Tom

Can't you turn it off on the inside of the house? (all mide have shutoffs just inside the wall) that way, if it gets turned back on you know it has to be from the tenants.

Is this an apartment building, duplex or what? You got to wash a ton of cars to warrant a huge water bill.

Can't rate ballengerb1 again yet ;)

I was thinking the same thing! I filled my swimming pool (10K gallons) and it didn't cost that much. :) that's a LOT of cars!
