This is my second class of my Masters in IT Management program. I have an MBA and my undergrad is in Finance. I am novice when it comes to IT. I have to make an ER-Diagram based on the following information using Visio. I am not looking for someone to give me answers, but rather need to know where to start. Here's the information that was provided:

Task Name: Phase 1 Individual Project
Deliverable Length: 3 page: .doc file
Details: Your supervisor reviewed the conceptual model for the Moonlight Distributors system and had asked you to convert the conceptual model into a ER-Diagram for the shipment tracking system.

CONCEPTUAL MODEL

Pick up Manifest

Customer Information, Pick Up Details, Consignee Information, Payment Methods

Delivery Truck Details

Route Number, Drivers Name, Employee ID, Time logged out, List of Delivery Manifests

Delivery Manifest

Consignee Information, Delivery details, Payment Methods, Condition of goods delivered, Date of delivery, Consignee signature, Problems with delivery

Please submit your assignment.

Points Possible: 150
Date Due: Friday, Aug 29, 2008
Objective: Design the logical data model for a given conceptual database model.

Submitted Files: Submit Task
Score: N/A
Instructor Comments: Microsoft Visio (or equivalent) should be used to create the E-R diagrams. Please embed the Visio diagram(s) into your Word document file. Remember to provide narrative in the file that demonstrates your rationale, correctly citing sources using APA. If you are not sure what each data model should include, here is a resource to assist Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models (http://www.1keydata.com/datawarehousing/data-modeling-levels.html)

Now looking at the first Item "Pick Up Manifest" would all of those listed be considered entities? At first I would have said Customer is and entity with attributes such as Customer name, address, ID, etc. But, if I do it this way this will be way longer than 3 pages. Or should I take the approach of Pick Up Manifest being the entity and customer information, etc are the attributes. I'm so confused.

Visio has wizards that will help you build the ER diagram. Start there
