They say if you breastfeed it makes your stomach go down faster. I have only lost 10 pounds and it's been 8 months. Anyone know the best way to lose weight after having a baby? I eat rationally and exercise somewhat regularly.

Hi maje3,
It is easier to lose weight while breast feeding than after, but the only time I found it really easy was in the first couple of months. After that, the weight gain just kind of settled in. Plus, nursing made me hungry and thirsty. First, drink water instead of juice or any sodas, diet or otherwise. Second, I would recommend increasing your exercise so it's a little more regular. I found a walking partner at Craig's list and that really helped me exercise and keep my weight down. (Then I stopped and it came back! But I'm still average, not plump.) Anyway, she and I used to walk together for an hour just twice a week. Made a huge difference.
If you time it right, so s/he's not hungry or tired and cranky, you can take the baby and he or she will nap or enjoy the scenery. Take a baby knapsack and you can go anywhere and carrying the weight will increase the calcium in the bones in your hips and back and protect you from osteoporosis when you are older. Plus it's more calories to carry the baby than to push a stroller and the baby gets to snuggle against you, which is sweet...
