Hi Everybody!
We have a usable basement toilet with a drain within the cement floor. We are looking into putting a full bathroom on the first floor. The basement toilet is right below the place we could install that first floor toilet. Is there some type of adapter available that connects the flange to the basement toilet from the pipe that would come from the toilet on the first floor. The basement toilet would no longer exist, but I do want to tap into that flange in order for the first floor toilet to drain into. Ideas or cold-hard facts appreciated.

Cast iron drain pipe or PVC? You can make this connection but it is more normal to connect via the wall cavity. The waste drain from the toilet does not need a trap and most every kind of pipe can be joined with another. You would actually be reoving the basement flange.
