I'm in the market to replace my furnace with a high efficiency model, the contractor I'm talking with has recommended either a Goodman GMH95 or a KeepRite VS90, both are two stage. Does anyone have any comment on either, especially the KeepRite.

Keeprite is a brand manufactured by ICP - International Comfort Products, who is owned by the same parent company as Carrier, although Carrier and ICP products are not similar and do not share design or manufacturing. ICP produces usually identical equipment under the brand names of Airquest, Arcoaire, Comfortmaker, Heil, Keeprite, Kenmore, ICP Commercial, and Tempstar, but the Keeprite brand seems to be marketed more in Canada than the US. Keeprite should be a decent furnace and would be considered to be a middle to lower-middle quality unit in general. As there is a very wide range of quality, features, and efficiency even within the Keeprite line, I can't tell you if that price is either good or bad. HOWEVER...
The most important day in the life of any system is the day it is installed. Usually, the biggest factor in reliability, comfort, and longevity of a piece of HVAC equipment is who installs it. It isn't rocket science, but if you screw up you could burn your house down, injure or kill your family from carbon monoxide poisoning, or a variety of other things that don't injure but end up costing in the long run.

I do like Goodman since most of the parts are off the shelf if needed.
