Ask her to take you to the local free clinic.

A lot of different things can cause difficulty sleeping. I have a series of questions to try and help narrow down the possible causes.

Do you snore when you sleep?
Are you overweight?
Do you often feel anxious?
Do you suffer from clinical depression?
Do you regularly take any prescription or non-prescription medications?
Do you turn out all of the lights when you go to bed?
Do you leave a TV on when you go to bed?
Is it dark outside when you go to bed?
How much time is there between when you last eat to when you go to bed?
Do you snack when you can't sleep?
Do you often have to go to the bathroom when you are trying to sleep?

nickeknew...

I know exactly what you're going through. In high school and college, I never got 2 - 3 hours of sleep, still don't.

For some reason or another, my body... is OK with this; I'm not sure if I've just gotten used to it, or I just never needed that much sleep...

My doc gave me a sample of ambien, but I didn't take it... instead, I got some valerian root (it's an herbal supplement) from GNC... it's about $5 - 6 a bottle. I still get about 2 - 4 hours of sleep, but I feel more rested.
