I`m worried that some of the chat my girlfriend and I talk about both typed and on voice on Yahoo messenger, can be tracked by her father, we both have clicked "no i dont want to save my messages/ voice history.............if i have clicked " no I don't want to save"... does chat /voice still stay on my hard drive... I`m grateful for any help thank you...

There are a LOT of ways a dad can see what you're doing regardless of what you're setting Yahoo chat logs to do.

Here's a rule of thumb: PRIVATE means in a room, door shut, computer off, phones off, and the window blinds closed. That's private.

ANYTHING ELSE is not private, you just hope it stays that way. You reach out with a computer/phone and do anything, it can be tracked by someone who REALLY wants to do it, especially if they're older, smarter and have more money than you.

If you have things to say to your girlfriend you don't want her dad to know, tell her in person. Don't write it down anywhere, ESPECIALLY not at a computer terminal. You fiddling with the Yahoo chat settings is a complete false sense of security.
