Help! Im nervous about something after hearing someone's opinion...

Over a year ago I received a bank loan to purchase a used vehicle - I bought it and was in love, until it began having mechanical problems. Forced with either the high cost of shop time or a new car I traded it in on a new car. The bank never placed their name on the title as a lien holder and I traded the car in for a new one. Now times have changed and I have lost my job. Not able to make the payments the bank is asking for a settlement offer. Forced with filing bankruptcy and adding this loan - can I get into trouble for having a loan for the car and them not placing a lien on the title after over 17 months of owning the car?

Should I take a settlement offer or should I list them in the bk?

Hello m:

THEY didn't put themselves on the title. YOU didn't do that. Yes, in spirit, I think you violated your agreement with the bank. But, it's a CIVIL violation - not CRIMINAL, in my view.

I wouldn't push it, though. Take the offer.
