Are you on well or municipal water?

There is a strong chance its just your vent stack blocked and the toilet is trying to do the venting. Tell us more.

load rumbling noise as it refills

"as it refills" sounds more like a loose washer in the stop valve or a defective seal in the fill valve.
What type of fill valve do you have?

OK.
What was it?

Do not get me wrong but I thought you came here for some ideas from folks who do this kind of repair. We are not in your home so we must visualize the problem based on your description. You used the term "air block" and to us there is no such thing so we must figure what you might mean, maybe air lock. In any event both Harold and I are providing ACCURATE information but it may not apply to your current situation. The more you tell us the better we can help. Please do not check INACCURATE unless we have made a factual error. What else can you tell us?

Gcsmick,

I agree with Bob and Harold both of them are the experts they tried to help you to resolve your issue based on your Description, but your description was not clear what your problem was, like Bob said we are not at you home to see you your problem, you are not supposed to disagree for no reason if you were able to fix it yourself then why did you come for help to this site.

Just think, with 100 greenies I can push that reddie off the bottom of the board. That's my third reddie, guess I need some remedial training.

I've been here for about 2 years and run about a 96% greenie rate. Half of the reddies are from folks who said they clicked the wrong button and can't undo it. Most of the regulars will see inappropriate reddies and balance them out. If you have 3 reddies out of 2000 posts you are way ahead of the curve.
