Due to imperfections on wall after taking off wallpaper, sanding and priming, I have decided to rag over the existing color hoping to help with hiding imperfections.

I have used a deep burgundy as the base but am having difficulty choosing the lighter color to rag with. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I know you'd like to hide the problem but proper joint compounding and then wipe with a damp sponge should fix the imperfections. Would you like help with that?

No not at this time. If I decide not to use the compounding suggestion, I still would like a suggested color for ragging on top of the deep burgundy.

Thanks

What about a dark gray?

If you have some paint left over of the burgundy, I would recommend getting a quart or gallon of glaze and a few sample jars of various colors and tones and trying on a piece of foam board or even cardboard. Once you find one you like you still have the glaze left so you just get the paint you need. Faux is certainly something you need to expirement with to see what you like
