I live on the east end of long island NY. Wish to install dx system in ground water which is about 54 degrees

Here you go. Do your BTU calculations first then you will have a range to work with.

The calculation came out to 5 ton system, I feed to a 20x21 duct to the entire home.

I think something might be wrong with your calculations.

Stuffing 5 ton/60,000 BTU's into a 20X21 inch duct sounds a bit to small to me but I did not do the calculations.

I would check over you math to be sure. I like a quiet system.

Of course it is a split system with inline controls each for half the home
