My goodman ac is only 1yr old and stop running while we were sleeping we live in new construction home smith and keen said we only have a 1 year warranty through them how can I trouble shoot this problem without spending a whole lot of money

First check and reset all inside and outside circuit breakers. Then if the outside disconnect has fuses check them to make sure they are good.

If your system uses a condensate pump to pump the water out from the evap coil make sure its not restricted, stuck, or blocked. It will kill 24 volts going to the system if the water backs up. A drain safety switch will do the same if the condensation line is backing up it kills 24 volt power.

I install a lot of Goodman equipment and for some unknown reason this year I replaced a lot of compressor contactors in these units. Your unit should have at least a 5 yr. parts warranty through Goodman. More then likely the control fuse has blown if the contactor is bad and you should call in a service tech to repair :mad:
