I saw this in probably the late 70s or early 80s. It's about a mountain man who is accused of some crime and is hunted by lawmen through the wilderness in the winter. Probably in Alaska or Canada. I think he dies in the end on a mountain. Note: I do not think it's "Death Hunt" with Charles Bronson because that movie is rated R and I saw this movie when I was quite young in a theatre, so it's probably rated G or PG.

Thanks!

OK, here's a scene I remember, maybe it will jog someone's memory. He's on snowshoes in the woods and to lose the people who are after him, he walks backward in his own tracks a ways and then jumps of the trail. That way it looks like his tracks just suddenly ended.

Jeremiah Johnson isn't the one I'm thinking of, but thanks anyway. After searching the internet for like 2 hours, I think it might be "Challenge to Be Free". Apparently it's based on the same real-life person as "Death Hunt", only it's rated G. That's got to be it. I just ordered it used from Amazon for $1.99...
