Talk to the PO. It may be possible to get probation transferred.

Hello Rose:
He sure can, unless he's a sex offender. Of course, if he's still under supervision, he may have some restrictions.

The person pled guilty to pot possession with intent to distribute a few weeks ago, they have yet to meet with a PO, they have an appointment on September 8, they're scheduled to be sentenced in November. They've lost their job as a result of the conviction and I was curious if they could move to another part of the state for employment. This world is new to me. If you could recommend a website or book so that I can know what to expect.

You will have to wait until sentencing.

Hello again, Rose:
Scott is right - probably. However, there's more than one way to skin this cat. This person isn't, as of now, under any restrictions at to where he can live. I'd move NOW and find work NOW. Once he's sentenced, he can tell the judge that he no longer lives in the county. The judge will have him contact the PO in his new county.
That's the way I would do it.
In terms of a book or a website, I've posted several thousand items that may be of interest to you. It's ALL about probation, parole, prison and pot and how to deal with all of it. And, I'm pretty good too.

I agree with what excon said, except this assumes she will get probation. What happens if she gets jail time?
