I would like to start my own cleaning service. Questions I have: Is getting bonded a must? What are the other things I need to do to become fully above board in the State of NC?

I'm not sure about the laws in North Carolina, but around where I live, it's not a necessity for a person to be bonded in order to perform residential or business cleaning. It is something that might make you look good in advertising, but being bonded might be an unnecessary expense for you. I have had only a couple times in being in business in the several businesses that I have, working in homes and businesses for almost thirty years where someone has asked me if I was bonded or not. My reply has been, that it's not a requirement and would just be an extra cost for me beyond the liability insurance that I do have. My references that I have speak volumnes...
Perhaps someone will come along who knows the laws in North Carolina, though.
Have you already had experience cleaning for others? If so what types of cleaning have you done, please? Residential, business, or both?
If you need help with advertising your business, then I can definitely help you there! Please just let me know. I can show you how to advertise your business for free, so that you can beat the rest of the competition when people do searches for the type of service that you provide in the areas where you want to provide it.
Thanks!
