Hello and how are you ? My qestion is that my husband and I have been in bankruptcy for about two years now and our interest rate in not fixed at the begainning of our bankruptcy our lawyer told us that our interst rate would not change but after finding that not to be true we would no what we have to do to sell our home and how long would it take us to able to buy a new one

I'm not up on bankruptcy issues as far as what the ramifications may be of selling during a bankruptcy.

I can tell you that lenders have locked down on giving risky loans, so your chances of getting new financing for several years is slim to none. You may be able to find an "owner" who would carry a note for you, but THEY will charge you high interest regardless of your credit situation... more if it's bad.

Was the interest rate supposed to freeze due to the bankruptcy? Perhaps you need to alert the attorney if there's some misconduct on the lender's part? Or was the attorney just mistaken?
