I recently has a tumor removed from my nasopharynx my doctor prescribed prescribed and I was given prescribed with prescribed to numb nose to allow the fiberoptic instrument to pass through my nasal passage with no pain. I recently had a hair drug test completed and I tested positive for cocaine when I have not used the drug. It shows my levels were 2644 pg/mg. Could Vicodine or Pontocaine cause the levels of the cocaine to be in my hair?

I would assume you gave the people taking the test a list of all the drugs you were taking, so they could rule those out??

It was not a prescription. My test came back and the cocaine level in my hair was 2644 pg/mg. I went to my doctor to get my medical records and found that he was using Pontocaine and afrin to numb my nose. I had no idea what he was using because it was apart of the office procedure when I went to see the ENT. I had a tumor and my adenoids removed on MAY 5, 2008 and I had 5 doctor visits after the surgery. The only prescriptions that I took during that time frame was Vicodin, Amoxicilian and Phenergan. My records from the doctor visits shows that Pontocaine and afrin were used on 3 out of the 5 office visits. I had to have a part of my septum cauterized and the solution was used to numb my nose. If I had known that before had I would have take my medical records with me.
