So here's my problem.. I moved into a new house to find out the fan switch on my ceiling fan is broke. I don't know the maker of the fan but I think I found a similar image of the fan (see below). There's 4 wires (black, purple, yellow, and orange) I would like to know the wiring configuration into the (L,1,2,3) switch. Any help would be much appreciated. It's a 42in 4 blade brass fan. Thanks

Here's the link to the similar fan

How was the original pullswitch wired?

PS, send a picture of the fan and I can identify it.

It wasn't wired it was completely unattached.. the fan was made by the company: Litex industries, inc. The brand is called "Impressions", it's a 42" fan, antique brass. A $35 dollar ceiling fan sold at walmart.

Very cheap fan, not worth investing too much time or money into, but if you want to look into it, Litex's number is in our sticky.
