Being a complete novice, I planted two pumpkin plants and they have been growing quite nicely, I Had three large pumpkins and a couple of small ones but the were all very dark green is this normal?
As these were at my place of work (a home for adults with learning difficulties) I have had a lot of "Help"!! From other staff members who said they should grow orange from the start.

So when I returned from shopping they had cut the larges one saying it was an over grown marrow even though it is round looks more like a water melon than a marrow

So can some one tell me what I have got, before they cut the rest. We were saving them for halloween, but now I only have two left as the little ones have turned yellow and the slugs have eaten them,
Thanks a very frustrated gardener

Yes they grow green.. as the nature they will turn orange.

Here, perfect picture... new one and a grown one.. note that the small one looks like a watermelon.
