I was caught shoplifting last week and getting very worried and can't sleep.
And coincidental enough.. I was telling my friends what happened and one of them had the same experience.
What happened to her was that she was charged and got restitution and community service.
However, she had done it many times before she got caught.
And she was actually worrying of the past history being found out because she's sure she's all in the mall CCTV tapes.
I'm just wondering if the place decides to charge her again for some of her past shoplifting incidents, which is before her first-time got caught(she never did it again after that time.. duh.) if so, in the court, how will the outcomes be? Will that be considered a second-time offence? Or would she just be charged like the first-offence? And she had done it so many times, if they charge her that many times she had done it, then she's doomed. That;s why she;s worried. Sorry, this is a selfish question because what we did was wrong. And since she told me to calm down and reflect on my own issues , I just want to help her and see what you professionals have to say.
Thanks for yout time.:D

Should be combined with other post - same subject.

If she was already charged and sentenced and then previous criminal activity is discovered she would be charged again and it would be her second offense, even though it took place before her first charged crime. She would be charged and sentenced as a second offense.

It's not the order in which you commit the crime, it's the order in which you are charged and/or arrested.

Yes, she will be charged for each time she does it, the next charge will be the 2nd offense, and the next the third. The date they are charged not the date of the crime makes it a 1st or 2nd offense
