We gave a move out notice to our landlord. Fifteen days after we had to file bankruptcy. Now we have been trying to find another place but we cannot get approved because of the bankruptcy. We talked to our landlord, but they say we have to move. Is there any way to make our landlord to allow us to stay? They say the apartment is already rented and that they do not have a one bedroom unit available, but we know they have.

No, once you have given notice unless the landlord agrees. They do not have to "re-rent" to you any more than the other places, yes you will find most of the larger places will not rent if you have a bankruptcy in last 3 years.

You will need to keep looking, normally look for private owned smaller places that will look at your payment history of the other places you have rented more than credit score
