I have a kenmore HE4 dryer less than a year old. It lights up and lets me choose my drying options, but when I press start it just beeps like it does when the door is not shut properly. The light burned out yesterday could it be related? It is driving me crazy because I keep thinking it must be something simple. I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. Thank you for any ideas you may have.

This dryer is basically a Whirlpool Duet dryer. To check the door switch, you will have to take it apart and use a volt/ohm meter. If you have a meter and are comfortable with this prospect, we can continue. This dryer isn't the easiest to disassemble, so I just want to make sure.
