Can find no cracks in fiberglass shower/tub combo. About 40 years old. Water comes out from under unit at wall. Handles leak water when turned ON, could this run back into pipes, down pipes to floor then out at wall at opposite end of shower.. need to isolate and fix it. Can't really see in drain. Not sure how to approach this since I can't get to anything other than take the handles off. The faucets do not drip or leak when shut off. HELP, SUGGESTINS, OPENIONS

Does the water appear only when the shower is in use? Could be the drain, try filling a few buckets of water from another spigot and then dump them in the pan floor. Did the leak reappear?

Thanks, I got a rubber stopper for the tub drain, ran the shower and put about 2 inches of water in the tub. No leak, shut off shower, pulled the rubber plug and leaked around tub and wall area.. like it is leaking at tub drain but can't see how, all that is there is a threaded inside connection from tub to drain with a crosshair in it, sealed by plumbers puddy around lip on outter tub side, what could leak if not around the lip which I eliminated by using a inside drain stopper to hold water... help

The plumbers putty can look good and yet be bad. Also, there is a 90 elbow just beyond your sight and that can be the leak or even at the trap. Any access to the trap?

Not that I can find, calling plumber today, now talk is about cutting out the wall, maybe pullilng the whole tub/shower unit out, figured I better stop here and get a professional. I can do toilets, sinks, faucets, but this may be more than I want to tackle. If it is bad I hope my homeowners insurance will kick in.. Even with that I guess you have to be careful about what is leaking or homeowners insurance won't participate. Wish I knew the correct approach... thanks
