From what I have heard my husband say there are only two ways to remove it. Spray or sprinkle a "pre-emergent" herbicide on the grass, kill all of the grass and replant months later or manually pull up the crab grass.
This seems to be the best advice I have found: Click HERE (http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=howTo&p=LawnGarden/crabgrass.html&rn=RightNavFiles/rightNavHowTo)

HI,
The link in your previous answer is good.
You can also use Scott's Turfbuilder Plus 2.
It gets rid of dandelions and crabgrass.
Also, many cut their their lawns much too closely; some of my neighbors cut it so close the grass roots are showing, and turn yellowish in color the next day! This promotes weed growth. After mowing, the grass should still be about 2 inches high, especially in hot, dry weather.

I have found two ways to get rid of crab grass.
1. Round Up
-you have to brush round up on each blade you want to kill (this works if you don't have much). Round Up kills EVERYTHING
2. over seed
-this works well. If you sprinkle grass seed where the crab grass is, it will choke out the crab grass. This works with most weeds.
