On the first day of my period I'm bleeding very heavy (having to change my tampon and pad both every 2hrs) and I'm also having clotting the length of a pencil and about the size of a penny around . Is any of this normal?

I have experienced clots in my periods however not that size. Friends have told me of periods being as heavy as yours esp after having an implanon inserted. I can't tell you whether what's happening to you is normal, seek a doctors advice when in doubt but have you had any recent changes in birth control? How old are you?

I've had clots before but not that size, I think the best thing to do is see a doctor.
