I am looking for the most comprehensive, and diverse assortment of online databases, directories, and information portals which can lead me to all the awesome places online that I would be interested in joining.  As with all other concepts, the opportunities, and possibilities for this are endless, as are the ways of locating, and evaluating them.  I want to locate the ones that would be of interest to me, given my interests, lifestyle, and goals.  What I am searching for reference to are the dynamic, and accurate places on the web which contain information, and reference to all the different clubs, organizations, programs, communities, and other stuff to join on the internet.  Recently I've been spending much time on the web, going from one basic search engine directory to another, and clicking on society, community, or lifestyle, and then looking for clubs, programs, organizations, and communities that are of interest to me, and could likely have the potential of profoundly enriching my life.  I am looking for general online directories to literally any kind of online community, which is diversified, and well categorized.

Herojourner770K, hi, you might want to try http://www.rdrop.com/~cary/html/search_tools.html. It has many search categories you can search further on--from people to science. But what you are looking for is impossible to find. There is really no such thing as one website monopolizing or having everything for everyone at every time or anytime. Nothing can please everyone all the time. You know that.

If you are in the New York area, try this: http://www.cititour.com/fun/citi-chat/citi-chat.htm.
If you want to try a different chat program or start your own community, try here: http://www.ivisit.info, or http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/search.php to seacrh for clubs and so forth. Happy cyber-commmuning! :D
