I am searching for the title of a movie / video / DVD which has no spectacular star in it just a good plot. The plot involves a kidnapping of children while a babysitter is in the house. The kidnapper "throws" his voice. The girl is suspected and consequently traumatized, goes off to college eventually and then strange things start happening to her at school. Someone is getting into her room and the college authorities think she is a bit 'touched in the head.'

She moves into new surroundings and then the stalker/kidnapper/likely murderer continues. She has a painted mural-like wall in her new place and this character paints himself so that he blends into the mural's scene.

This should be enough of the plot for someone who remembers to give me a clue as to how to locate this film. I've tried the AV Department of the Westport [CT] Public Library but they did not have any success.

I googled a question and this site turned up so I'm hoping that someone here will be able to either provide me with the answer or another way / place to search for this movie.

The name of the film was called: "The Ventriloquist", I believe where a guy paints himself into the wall of some chicks house. He breaks in while she is gone and takes photos of her brick wall and artistically paints himself to blend with the wall. He then waits for the chick to return and uses his ventriloquist voice to talk to her in the same room she's in, but she doesn't know where he is at exactly. The ventriloquist then attempts to kill her but someone comes and shoots him dead I believe. I think the movie was made in the early or late 80's. I'm looking for the same movie!
