View Full Version : Bed rest

Myth

I went to the dr today because I had a scare on Saturday, I had passed a small amount of mucus and had cramps all day. I didn't go to the emergency room cause if something was happening this early on there's not much that they could do but have me lay down and take it easy. Well my dr said that I'm in the stage of getting adema? And that he didn't think that I should be working anymore between now and the birth of the twins. He also said that if I got it that it would be twice as bad as with a singleton. I'm kind of confused about another thing too. I'm actually 17 weeks along and it's normal he said for me to measure about a month larger with twins... but when he measured me he said I was measuring at 26 weeks... that's almost ten weeks more. He told me that it was the babies positioning... there in a T shape with one in my pelvis vertically and the other one on the top horizontally... I have been pregnant and have two children but I have never heard of something like this before. He put me on bed rest today too. If everything is going OK then why put me on bed rest? I'm just a bit concerned about that. I am just looking for some feedback and not neccarily answers cause well these are just venting concerns not really questions to be answered. Thanks in advance everyone.

Ugh I'd be concerned too. I'm also resting on doctor's orders. I guess we're bed buddies... maybe we can have a sleepover! :p I hope someone who knows more about having twins can answer you soon, I just wanted to say hi and take care of yourself!
