We have these incredible 8' high yellow annual flowers and no one can identify them. My friend who gave them to us also is unaware of their name.
I can send a photo of the flower and the leaves to anyone who thinks they can name them.
I live in S Ontario, and they just bloomed end of July (and subsequently ruined by massive downpours we have experienced in past 7-8 days).
Thank you so much - this is my first time on the site and it looks great.
Cheerio and thanks again.

First you would have to scan it to your computer and then it is easy to put it up here.

In case you don't have a scanner, do you have the photos contained on some other kind of media like on a CD or diskette? If you are able to get them into your computer in some way and might be having difficulty in posting them, I know just the right person to ask who is a member of this site who can help you to do that!
Please let me know!

Tickle may know she answers a lot of flower questions. I'll drop her a line so she will see this. I want to say that they are very pretty.

It looks like a kind of mum. Maybe a spider mum? Only dif I can tell is that the leaves on yours are the same basic shape but a bit longer (more severe "W")

When you said really tall yellow flower I immediately thought Jerusalem artichoke or Maximillian sunflowers but you picture looks like marijuana plants to me. Those can get 10 to 15 feet tall.

Marijuana has 5-lobed erose leaves and much smaller flowers. BTW, the seeds are nutritious but when used in bird seed they're irradiated so won't germinate.

DAHLIAS they are - just got it confirmed on weekend - there were photos of them in our local newspaper.
Than you all for the input.
