My son's father (whom I dislike greatly ) was recently arrested for not paying support. Fifteen years ago he was charged with sexual assult. It was one count for which he did his time. He is on probation now for not paying his support and his probation officer is insisting he take classes for the sex offense. The class she told him he has to take is about an hour away and he has no drivers license so he needs to pay someone for someone's time and gas to drive him there and he has to pay each week for the class. He can't afford it. He got a job and has been paying his support but because he can't afford the class he is now going back to jail and losing his job and I am no longer receiving support. Because he already served his time, and because his offense now is for support I think she is way out of line. What can be done?

He is in one of the catch 22's of the court system on the one hand they get you for back child support and on the other he is losing his job so loses the ability of keeping up with the payments. Unfortunately that is the way the court system often works and all I can see that he can do is get a good lawyer if it isn't too late.
