Hello all!

I am writing to ask about convicted felons in Texas being able to apply for a home loan. My sister-in-law has a boyfriend that is a convicted felon... drug charges from years ago. He has done all his time and everything and they are now trying to buy a home as they are expecting their first baby in October. So, my question is, with a drug conviction, can he qualify for a home loan? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!:)

Lenders look at income and stability. The stability is his problem.

The conviction will not automaitcally disqualify him, but it will bring down his score.

Thank you! I didn't think it would disqualify him. He has been at the same address for over 5 years, has no debt, has been working for over a year with steady income. I think he'll be OK... he should be able to at least qualify as much as I have... and my credit is horrible... lol Thanks again!
