I understand that Medicare/Social Security cannot be garnished--I just discovered that my 84 year old Dad has over $15,000 in credit card debt---his minimum is $350+ per month.
He cannot pay any more that $100 per month now due to illness. How do I arrange this payment for him and can the credit card company garnish his pension?

If they obtain a judgement against him they may be able to garnish a private pension.

$100/month will probably not cover the interest on $15K. So I would contact a credit counseling servie to get the, to freeze his account so your payment can reduce there amount owed.
