Hi, I'm half way through my pregnancy with my ex boyfriend. He and I are trying to work it out and maybe get together again and be a family.

I'm not completely sure I want to be back in a relationship with this person again as it never really went well before and I don't see how having a baby in the picture will change things. :(

What I need to know is if we don't get back together and things turn nasty, i.e. court battle for joint custody.

At what age can the baby be left with Dad without me being with him.

My view is that because she will be a newborn, he won't be able to have her without my supervision because she will rely on me to feed her etc. He is annoyed at my opinion and I'm not doing it to annoy him, I'm just thinking of my daughers safety. His parents don't like me very much and I'm scared that they will take her away from me out of spite.

HELP, what do I do??

What age will she have to be before he can have her without me around??

If you are planning on breastfeeding they have breast pumps now so the Judge really doesn't look at that as an issue.
From what I have heard the visitations of a newborn are not as often or long as regular visitations of older kids but Judges do still give the visitations.
If there is a court order then for them to try to keep her or take her would be a contempt of the court order and you could call the Police to retrieve the baby (I would think)
Short of the grandparents kidnapping the baby by taking off to another state no forwarding address I do not see a serious problem as long as you have a custody and visitation order. Go petition for primary custody and the Judge will take it from there.

There is no hard and fast rule. Generally, while you are breastfeeding, it would be limited, though you can store your milk and give him bottles. But the judge would make this decision.

Not many states have hard fast laws on this. As pointed out there are breast pumps that can be used while he has the child. Your best bet is to go to court as soon as she is born to get the custody and visitation orders in place.
