Okay here's the thing, my dad's always been that little bit crazy, and fun, and un-parent like. But recently stuff's been a bit strange, I just saw him sitting in the garden talking to himself. And it's other little things, like I found the butter in his wardrobe. And he seems oblivious to what's going on, and it's quite creepy. It's really embarrassing for me too. I don't really understand what's going on..

Would like to know how old your dad is before I pass an opinion to try and help you out amberx. Is your mom living with you as well ? In any event, somebody will have to get him to a doctor before the condition escalates.

Do you know if he has been under stress lately; physical, emotional, mental stress ? He is way to young to have the start of dimentia which is what I thought from the symptoms you mentioned, however, there something going on with his mental aptitude from what you describe and I suggest you and your mom get him to the doctor and explain just what you said here. Although I can't diagnose anything and don't have the ability to do that, from what you say there is something serious going on.

Does he still work ? How are his other functions around the house. Is he vague, that sort of thing. Let me know.

What does your mom say or does she try to act like nothing is wrong?
