Yes she needs to cut way back on meat, gravy, some sea foods, artificial sweeteners and beer.
Reduce your use of oatmeal, dried beans, peas, lentils, spinach, asparagus, cauliflower, and mushrooms.

She needs to drink cherry juice as much as possible. The more natural, the thicker and the darker the better. Avoid sweetened juices though

Hello newe:

She can avoid the foods N0 suggested, OR she can get a prescription from her doctor for allopurinol. It controls the uric acid that builds up in the foot and toes.

It's only about $10 a month, and then she can eat anything she wants.

She should also go to her primary care provider for definitive diagnosis if she has not yet. A uric acid test should be ordered, but also should look into other causes of this issue such as rheumatoid disease and diabetes

Gout is a form of arthritis that affects the joints, primarily the joint of the great toe. As suggested allopurinol is a great medication, coupled with colchasine for flair ups, but this should be properly diagnosed by a uric acid test.
