Hello
Yesterday I had a plumber install a new bathtub and rough in the plumbing.
The problem is that the drain does not align with the faucet, valve or shower head. Could they just notch out the 2x4 and move the valve further to the right to align the fixtures? I paid them $1300 and it just does not seem right to me.
Also is it normal to see so much charred wood? I attached a picture
Thanks Charred

I'm sorry to say that you got taken. That tub should go in after the drywall!. so in reality the centerline of it should be even further to the right!

I'd get him back there to do it right... and even consider stopping payment on the check if you still have that chance.

Outside of damm near burning down your home and installing supplies that look like they belong on a child's Kazoo the incompetent plumber couldn't even line the spout and valve up with the drain. The first thing I would do is call the plumbing company and have them send out another plumber to redo the first clowns work at no cost to you. If you get no satisfaction there I would contact The Better Business Bureau and as a last resort your lawyer.
There is simply no excuse for this type of shoddy workmanship. Please keep me informed of further developments. Good luck, Tom
