My hair was really damaged from dye and bleach. It started to get really nasty and just break off.I got so upset that I cut it off today by myself and I cut it too short now I really hate it and regret it!What can I do to help my hair grow back?

Keep up the trims to keep away split ends. Don't dye or perm it for a while. Be patient.

Only time will make hair grow. There has been no proven hair growth miracles...

Or you could get a better cut and style to make you feel more comfortable with the short cut.

That's the thing my hair is very thin and my hairline is not very pretty so I really can not do much with my hair any ideas?

ChihuahuaMomma

Just be patient and let it grow... if the issue with the hairline, you can wear a one of those wide cloth headbands to cover that until it grows out...

Or a wig...

Or extensions.

Do you know the price of extensions?I never bought them so I wouldn't know.

The prices varies with color, length, amount, and place they are purchased. Go to a few salons in your area and compare prices.

What is your hair condition now?

Shave it completely off for charity then wear a cute hat. Anyone mocking you will be mocking your generous nature and will look bad themselves. Not ideal by any means, but perhaps a good diversion while your hair grows out. It will only take about a week for everyone to get used to your look anyway.

Okay, Gabby! I understand your dilemma, but kindly tell me if you have ever got your hair short earlier, I mean have you been getting trims or bobs or cuttings even, REGULARLY, or not? Moreover, I presume that it is a little difficult when you have cut it only once...

Pl reply!!

No I get my hair cut every three months but I usually have long layers and long bangs where I know what to do with it but I have not had my hair this short in years anh I hate it!So to answer your question yes I get cuts regularly... and no its not always the same cut but I get in styled long not short!

The only thing that you can do is learn to work with what you've got.

Hey,

I know EXACTLY how you feel right now. I have very curly hair and used to blow dry it/ flat iron it like no other. In January I had gotten some nice very blonde highlights in my very dark brown hair and then my hair just started breaking off. It went from being a little past my shoulders to having a few straggley ends there with everything else shorter. I went and saw a hairstylest who cut of the ends BUT listened to me and didn't cut it shorter than I wanted. BUT I wanted a miracle right away because I had been trying to grow my hair out for so long. I went out and bought hair pills chock full of vitamins, got awesome conditioners (Redken Butter Treatment and Extreme are awesome, but ONLY use them once a week or your hair will be more damaged due to all the protein). I also stopped blow drying/flat ironing it except on special occasions. It took a LONG time, but my hair is now healthy again. It really does just take time. I looked into extensions, but was a little too embarrassed to get them and wanted to solve my hair problem on my own. I wish the best of luck to you, but believe me, I know how you feel. This sort of thing happens to girls everywhere.

Please do not post saying that you will reply later. If you are too busy to give a response then please don't post anything. We are not here to boost post count, we are here to help others and get help. Sorry to be rude, that's just what I think.

I found this really fun site @ dailymakeovers.com (http://www.dailymakeovers.com) where you can upload your photo and try on all of these crazy styles, makeup and all kinds of fun stuff! There are over 3,000 hairstyles on there. I know, who knew there were 3,000 of them? But it may be worth it for you to do that and see if you can't afford the extensions to find yourself a really cute shorter hairstyle. You see yourself differently when your photo is staring back at you on the screen. You get a different perspective. And you may realize that your hair doesn't actually look that bad! Good Luck!

* And I learned in beauty school that "scalp manipulation" can help grow your hair faster. It's just massaging your scalp for 15 minutes a day. It increases blood flow and it's supposed to aid in hair regrowth. I don't know if it actually works, but hey... a 15 minutes scalp massage is heavenly! *

I have seen it, but I could not make out, where can I see myself in different makeovers.

If you are considering extensions, I would recommend getting clip in ones.

Since your hair is already damaged from bleach, the glue on permanent extensions may damage it again causing it to continue to break.

I went on the website and there's a box that says create a new you w/ a little arrow. You just click on that and it should prompt you what to do. You can do a few for free but then you have to pay after that. It's so much fun, though! You can change your eye color w/ contacts, put any hair color w/ highlights or lowlites, try on glasses and jewelry. I could do it for hours! Or go to makeover gallery and it'll tell you to upload photo.

If you go on to the site, you click on Makeover Gallery and then it will say that you can upload your photo for free. Then once you do so it'll tell you what to do from there. If you go to the makeover gallery that's then where you can do the hairstyles and colors and stuff. It's there and you can do it, I promise! Because I did it! I just went on to see what it would tell you to do. That's all I did at first before I decided to join. You can do a few for free and then of course after that they want you to pay. But it's still fun. Even if you can just do a couple.

Gabby,
My hair was cut very short once and I hated it. So what I did was I always wore a cap. And after two or three hours my hair was completely flat. Which really suits a lot of people. And not many people would find the difference.

Hope I helped!!

If you don't get extensions, then I would go to a hair stylist so they can cut your hair to fit your face and then start spiking it. I've always thought short pixie cuts were cute.

Perhaps you could post a picture of the current cut so we can better aid you in some styles?
