Hello!
I have obtained a 1990 Chevrolet 1500 pickup in the beginning of July '08. Everything has been working on it, till now.
Just recently (Saturday) I've started to notice problems, the truck will start fine, and idle fine. Once you start moving, and it warms up the "Check Engine Soon" light may come on.
After a while of driving, the truck starts to have issues if you keep your foot on the gas at a steady rate, no issues just a light - when you press down to accelerate after about 6 seconds (timed it) it will cut out, keep your foot on the gas - nothing, as soon as you remove your foot it will start going again - no delay. Reapply your foot and six seconds later the same thing happens.
When you stop for a light, or a sign or what ever it may idle high, or not at all (kind of like a bi-polar truck or something).
1990 Chev 1500
Truck is a standard transmission.
Fuel injected.
Has gas in tank / lines.
Lots of residue in / around carb.
Please help Gurus of Mechanics!

Just an update:
Today (this evening) Monday Aug. 4 2008
No engine light, and the engine did not cut out as described above -- drove about 20 - 25km
Still idling problems (bi-polar thingy see above)
