All right here is my question. (I do not happen to be one of these women) why do women smoke, drink, and do drugs after they find out they are pregnant? I am so tired of trying to feel sorry for these stupid women who think that doing drugs and drinking is okay while they are carring a baby. Then they want us to feel sorry for them because they are scared they messed their kid up! I am at the point right now where I think we should tell these women they get what the desurve. Women who can't have babies cry because they see "crack heads" having babies even though they do crack and don't eat and take care of themselves that's horrible. There is a problem when we provide comfert to these women who just want someone to feel sorry for them and their problems.
Sorry if these affends any one but the truth hurts.
(This is my own opion)

BG,
Okay, I give up, please tell me why women who smoke, drink, do drugs and all those things become pregnant in the first place? :)
It's not like the get pregnant first and then start the abuses. They just continue on with the habits they already have because they haven't hurt themselves so obviously the habit is not dangerous to the child!

I understand that they already had the habit. But why would they keep using that the one thing I don't get because they want to cry to every one about how bad they feel about the child that they harmed and are worried about birth defects.

It's called accountability. They do not want to be accountable for what they knowingly caused, so blame the world.
It's an irrational escape plan that will never work. The proof will always be right there in front of them. You owe them nothing other that the normal decent way you would treat any one.

They continue for various reasons... it's an addiction, they may be in denial of being pregnant, out of sight out of mind... if they can't see the baby, it is not as "real" as if the baby was right there sitting before them, they likely know others who have done so and their babies turned out "just fine" (again denial of the potential risks), they don't like being told what to do, they may not really want the baby anyway... see it as an intrusion to their lifestyle, human nature to think bad things only happen to other people, etc..
It is hard to imagine when you don't do those things yourself... easy to say just stop doing it. Some women are able to do so, others have a difficult time with it... may even need help with quitting, and some probably don't really care all that much.
