I just had my two bottom wisdom teeth removed yesterday. They were impacted so they were cut out. The bleeding is controlled and I haven't been in much pain. It just feels like pressure, so I have only taken Tylenol for it so it's not as sensitive. 24 hours after my surgery I began using a saltwater rinse after every meal and I am also taking the antibiotics my oral surgeon prescribed to me to avoid infection. The stitches I have will dissolve.

About six hours ago I noticed a white patch over the stitches and on top of the gum where my left bottom wisdom tooth used to be. My left cheek seems more swollen than the right and that area is slightly more sensitive also.

Should I worry? What is this white patch?

I would call my oral surgeon but his office doesn't open again until Tuesday.

Thank you!

It is a patch or gauze?

Could be gauze... could be just your skin healing. As long as you're rinsing with salt water and taking the antibiotics, you should be fine.

I doubt that it is guaze, you would have noticed that right away. ISneeze is right, as long as you are rinsing with salt water and take your antibiotics until they are gone, you should be fine. Could you have bitten your left cheek while still frozen causing it to be more sensitive? Try to keep your fingers away from the surgical sites and check the area again on Tuesday. If you are still concerned, call your dentist.
