Hi
I have a 2000 honda civic EX manual transmission and for some reason it doesn't not start I used it the previous night and it worked fine but the next day after I finished washing it I went to turn it on and nothing happened the lights on the dash turn on the radio turns on and the headlights but the car just doesn't turn on. The starter won't even crank and I recently changed the battery since the old one was real low. I don't know if it could be the alternator or the starter doesn't work. I checked all the fuses and wires to see if there were and that were burned out and there wasn't so I don't know. If somebody could help me out I would appreciate it.

. Be sure you tested all under-hood and under-dash fuses with a test light or multimeter:

. Remove and fully charge battery. If everything now works, your alternator is likely bad. Most auto parts stores will charge batteries, test alternators, and test starter motors for free.

OK I found out what the problem was it was the starter but for some reason the two bolts that go on the starter won't go in all the way the one on the top goes almost all the way it needs just a little bit for the whole thing to go in and be able to tighten it and the one on the bottom when I put it in it's all loose.
