My moen single handle faucet won't shut off. It has a continuous drip/run of hot water. I took out the stem and found a bit of solder and thought I'd solved the problem. But it's still going. Can the stems or insides be replaced?

What is the model of your faucet is it kitchen, lavatory, or shower faucet, You can replace the cartridge very easy and also do you that moen products are life time warranty just call
1 800-8820-0116 give them the model Number they will send you the parts free, if you need it soon they will ask for the shipping charges other wise it is free just tell them that you are the original owner,if you need help with the replacement let me know, good Luck.

The solder left over may have cut one of the O-rings, or you still have some dirt on the cartridge. Remove it, inspect it, reinstall it. If still a problem, buy new one ($15.00) - or call Moen and complain.

Thanks for the help and advice guys. I pulled our a piece of solder about the size of 2 BB's and it still leaked. Home Depot sells a replacement cartridge and that seemed to do the trick. I would have waited to get one from Moen but it was leaking about a cup of hot water every minute. Think they'll reimburse me?

Hey Dan, Glad you got fixed up.
Moen may replace the cartridge under warranty but I don't think they'll send any $. Regards, Tom
