Copy & paste the text of the email into Babelfish (http://babelfish.yahoo.com/). Then take the translated text and copy & paste into AT&T Labs Text to Speech Demo (http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php). However, the latter only supports a few languages in the free demo. If you're using Windows, here's a utility (http://www.filedudes.com/Advanced_Text_to_Speech-download-24825.html) that converts text to speech; you can copy the translated result from Babelfish and the utility will read it from the clipboard. On Mac OS X, just bring up TextEdit, paste in your text and select Speech from the Edit menu.

Are you actually clicking on the links we're recommending? Both Babelfish and the site seahwk83 recommended are free. You type in the text and receive a text translation. You can translate English to Russian or vice versa. However, be aware that the capabilities of any automatic translation are limited and unusual words and idioms will be lost. For example, if you put in the Russian for "My hovercraft is full of eels" into Babelfish (Моё судно на воздушной подушке полно угрей), you get back "My vessel on the air cushion is full of the blackheads". No translation software handles idioms and unusual words well.

Assuming you want to type something in English, translate into Russian, and send the result for the uncle you mention in your other posting about sending email, you would do it this way:

1. Go to Babelfish at the link above and enter your text into the field named Translate a block of text: "Hello, uncle, how are you doing? I'm doing fine and I miss you."

2. Select English to Russian with the dropdown menu and click the Translate button.

3. The result in Russian appears above the text you've translated: "Здравствулте!, дядюшка, как вы делаете? I' m делая отлично и я пропускаем вас." Copy and paste into your email.

You're not being very clear about what you want to do. If you want to take the resulting text and send a spoken translation because your uncle can't read the email you're sending him for some reason, you will need to acquire software. For example, this shareware (http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Multimedia_and_Graphics/Misc__Sound_Tools/Sayvoice_Text_to_Speech_Reader.html)will supposedly create an MP3 file with your Russian translation (it's shareware). The alternative would be to have your uncle find someone who can read the translation to him.

Okay this is very helpful but I need to know how to tell him my email and he doesn't speak english and I can't understand his language when he speaks to me. I mean I know russian but I don't know HOW to tell him my email like: [email protected]

If you mean how to tell him what your email address is, Babelfish gives this result: моя электронная почта является следующим: [email protected] (which means in Russian "My email address is: [email protected]").

Your email address itself is in English, since the internet uses English text rather than Cyrillic for communications.
