I have a 25' deep water well with a submersible pump. I live in the SW so its very dry here.
This morning I noticed that water is flowing out of the top of the well. I don't have any loss of pressure and everything looks fine. It has been raining but not excessively. My question is, am I about to have a problem with my well? Has something malfunctioned to cause the water to run out of the top of the well? Thanks

It's very dry there and your well is only 25'? Is this a dug well (3 ft wide hole in the ground) or a drilled well (just a pipe in the ground)? If drilled well, does only happen while pump is running or all the time?

I agree with HK. I don't see how you can have a 25' well in the dry southwest. Water is running out the top of the well? Sounds to me more like you might have a leak in the wellpipe as it exits the well. That's my only guess. It could appear to be water coming out of the well. Does it happen all the time, or only when the pump is on?

I agree with Herald and jlisenbe. I bet this only happens just after or when the pump's running. Sounds like a pressure leak near the well head. Check it out and let us know. Tom
