Thank you Milo Dolezal for the answer to how my husband installs the jacuzzi tub. You said it depends on if it is a self rimming or under mount how do we tell if it is self rimming or under mount? See my friend gave us the tub so there is no box or paper work... please help I just want to take a nice bath.. Thank you

Jennifer, you don't need a box to tell self-rimming tub from under-mount. You look at it from 20 feet and you know.

Self-rimming tub has finished lip that turns downward from the top of the tub towards your tiled pedestal. Under-mount tub has flat edges in form of an overlap that you can tile over, ending your tile with quarter-round tile piece or polished edge of granite slab.

In some cases, we install Self-rimming tubs as under-mount. This happens when customer cannot find the right design of her tub in under-mount version. In this case, it requires tile man to build up his float up to the upper edge of the tub and then tile over the high point.

If you are using granite slab, then under-mount looks lot better than self-rimming. Post a photo of the edge of your tub. I'll tell you right away what kind you have.
