I was wondering if any one would know to to reset a heater/cooling system? I just installed a new thermostat and I cannot get my heater/cooler to kick on and start.
The last thermostat I had was a Honeywell T8401C and I just put in a Honeywell RTH230B.
But the pilot light does not kick in to start it up..
I have tried everything I know.
If anyone has any ideas I sure would appreciate it.
Have a Great day!

Did you tag the wires as you took them off the ild tstat? You sure its wired right? did you check the furnace,, the breakers,, the little fuse on the control board,, will the fan run when you set it to fan only,, is the door closed tight on the furnace, after you check all of these things get back with us and tell us the numbers off the furnace, the name, do you have a heat pump? give us more info if you please

If you are certain about the wiring of the thermostat, there is the remote possibility that you have a bad thermocouple.

Would be a rare coincidence that it would go bad at the same time you changed the thermostat though.

Check your wiring

The new thermostat will not work for heat pumps but I believe you said your unit was gas.
